Soft buttery tones, cool crisp turquoise, night skies, velvet greens and deep shades celebrate the magic of nature. Rachael's works are visually dimensional with contrast and movement. She has a recognizable style and a variety of progressive themes, from sunshine and rainbows to sorcery. The night sky and bodies of water are a joy for Nightgirl and she paints them tenderly. Sometimes abstract, sometimes lush, and sometimes quiet, she creates a journey, a flow from one piece to the next. Rachael was born in Arizona and lived in Montreal with family as a child. In 1987 the Similkameen Valley adopted her and her parents and she has recently returned "home" after living away on Vancouver Island. A teacher, and community leader by day, and all things art by night.
